How do you use jaxtr?

The new year is shaping up to be quite an interesting year for jaxtr... While the number of our users continues to grow, we continue to see an increased level of calling activity among old and new users on the service. Which leads me to believe that our members are figuring out new ways to use jaxtr. These are some of the ways I use jaxtr:

-I use jaxtr to do a weekly call with an advisor in Europe. I simply dial the US number jaxtr has given me on my mobile phone on the way to work. Our advisor travels often, so he links his phones to jaxtr and routes the calls accordingly. This way, I don't have to dial 5 different European numbers to find him. Also, calling the US number is free (except for local airtime), so I save the company A LOT of money by doing my calls this way. We are grateful to our advisor for having signed up on jaxtr so that we can call him for free.

-I use jaxtr to talk to my family in Vancouver, Canada. Despite the geographic proximity, it is VERY expensive to call Canada on my US mobile phone (and same for them to call me on their Canadian mobile). It is a lot cheaper to call each other on our home's landline phones, but we are almost-never home (work, travel, parties...). I have slowly managed to get most of my family in Vancouver to use jaxtr and now we are hooked. We don't use our regular phone numbers anymore, and instead, just dial the jaxtr assigned local numbers to reach each other for free on-the-go.

-I use jaxtr to receive calls from online friends on Orkut, Facebook and Myspace. I would never post my phone number online; but, I have quite willingly posted my jaxtr widget on those sites for anyone to contact me. Of course, I have my jaxtr PrivacyShield on, so calls from people I don't know go to my jaxtr voicemail box and I don't have to worry about getting an unwanted call in the middle of the night. It is great to check my jaxtr inbox to hear all the voice messages my visitors have left me. Whenever a reply is needed, I will either call back or send a text reply back to the visitor as long as they are a jaxtr user. I have made quite a number of new friends this way from all over the world!

Okay, I have taken my turn. Now it is your turn to share with us your stories about how you use jaxtr. Please post your comment here!

My wife and I use jaxtr all of the time to call her parents in Spain. Before signing up for jaxtr, we had to use calling cards if we wanted to call her parents from our mobile phones. It was a total pain! We'd have to remember PIN numbers and phone numbers. Now we just have the jaxtr number for her parents stored right in our mobile phone address books. With one click, we call her parents in Spain and it's the same rate as a local call here in the USA!

I use jaxtr to keep in touch with the Costa Rican host family I lived with as an exchange student in high school. It was tough to keep in touch before, because they didnt have a headset, nor did they have a reliable internet connection in their tiny village in the mountains, so trying to connect on Skype was near impossible.

Now that they have signed up for jaxtr and linked it to their home phone, calling them is cheap, free, and so easy. I just have a local San Fran number saved for them in my mobile, and I call them whenever, from wherever! They dont have to do anything special to get the call, just pick up their home phone when it rings as usual.
