Service Update: Change to Jaxtr Number Service

In an effort to improve the jaxtr service, we recently made an important change to how jaxtr numbers work: All local jaxtr numbers have been converted into Jaxtr On-The-Go access numbers.

While this does not change the calling rate or call quality you are used to, it may slightly change how you use jaxtr: Now, when you call any previously assigned jaxtr number, you will be prompted for the destination number in order for jaxtr to connect your call.

The main benefits of this change to you are:

  • Only one number to remember: The same jaxtr number now allows you to call anyone you wish. It is no longer necessary to return to the jaxtr website each time you want to call someone new.

  • Easy global access: If you are traveling out of your local region, simply use the local jaxtr access number for where you are traveling to in order to place your call. You no longer have to create new jaxtr number assignments for all your contacts. See the list of the jaxtr access numbers worldwide here. (Remember to add your new local number to the list of your phones on jaxtr so that jaxtr recognizes you when you call.)

  • Unlimited contacts: You are no longer limited by the number of local jaxtr numbers we have available in your region. A single number allows you to call an unlimited number of friends for free or at our super low rates.

We understand that this improvement may initially require getting used to, and we apologize for the inconvenience that it may cause. But we hope that in time you will appreciate the benefits outlined above and use jaxtr even more.

As always, we appreciate your feedback and suggestions for improvement.

Happy talking :)

Service Update: Jaxtr Mumbai Numbers

Dear Users,

We were just informed that our local numbers in India have been disabled by one of our telco partners. As you know, jaxtr has been at the forefront of innovation in the telco industry and at times this means we will need to have patience while regulators examine and understand our technology and service to become comfortable with it.

We are confident that upon examination of the service, we will be able to continue providing you with local number access in India, but unfortunately we don't have a good estimate as to the timing of that examination.

But this does not mean you cannot use jaxtr to save money from India: While our local numbers are disabled, please use the Click-to-Call feature from your account's home page to place your jaxtr calls at our super low rates.

Please note because of this, our FreeConnect service is also not available for calls placed to/from India.

We will update you as soon as we have more information about this matter. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your continued support of our innovative services.

Over 150 new ways to make free calls!

We are excited to announce a new way for you to save money, even when you don't have internet access:
Jaxtr On-The-Go.

You can now use jaxtr to start free calls on the go by calling one of our over 150 On-The-Go access numbers worldwide.

How does it work?

All you need is your local On-The-Go number. For example, in Palo Alto, California, we dial 1-650-644-1351. Find your closest On-The-Go number and call it anytime you want to call a new destination and then follow the voice instructions to make free and low rate calls worlwide. Add that number to your mobile phonebook now and say good-bye to expensive international calling fees forever.

Tip: If you are traveling, be sure to write down the On-The-Go number for your destination, so you can continue making free calls while you travel. However, make sure you use a local phone; otherwise, your phone company long distance or roaming fees would apply. Also, if you want to use the calling credits in your account when calling from a new phone, you need to add that phone to your jaxtr phones.

Call and give it a try now.

Happy talking!
